Born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. Started modeling at the age of 16 and launched her brand FIG&VIPER only 3 years later. Works also as a DJ and producer.
Alisa Ueno meets REVS editors to share her thoughts on her quickly rising professional career as a fashion designer, DJ, model, artist. We also had the opportunity to work on a photographic story together shot in the street of Tokyo.
“I dreamt of becoming Sailor Moon when I was young. I wanted to be an idol. I never had a strong calling for modeling but I always wanted to do something interesting and fun with my life. Even today, my goal is to simply spend a super fun life. I’ve always wanted to put a smile on people’s faces. Doing silly things is the basis of my life and I am glad to be this way.”
“I would describe my brand FIG&VIPER as a trend, an icon and an original. FIG&VIPER means Alisa Ueno and Alisa Ueno represents FIG&VIPER. I want to push myself to always make a better collection for the people wearing my clothes. At the moment I’m dreaming of moving to New York in a few years time. Honestly speaking, I can never plan my life further than 6 months ahead. I am certain though that in the future I will be satisfied and living a happy life.”
“I want to make people around me feel motivated and push them to challenge themselves. When I started my brand I had no experience, but I decided to give it a try. I feel that the time is always ticking in life – you can’t buy it back with money – so experiencing as much as you can is important.”
“It is important to say how you want to be and what you want to be. Above all, always believe in yourself.”
