Vatos Lanos is a multidisciplinary project merging eastern fashion, visual arts such as painting, photography and motion image. It is also a tribute to a very popular car - Lanos - produced in Polish FSO Factory by Daewoo. Korea-designed Lanos was a symbol of middle-class prosperity of capitalist market rise in the 90s. It has been also a symbol of hard time of social transformation, market adjusting and generation switch. There are still a lot of them on polish roads.
Lanos is also a model which Szumski inherited after his grandmother and became an inspiration to the idea of a gang of his passengers, dressed up in Cincio's odd-couture uniforms. Stitched together fabrics are previously re-worked sport scarves covered with Szumski's art and graphics related to the subject. Models' silhouettes are covered with his body-painting improvisation connected with previous series exhibited in Warsaw's Contemporary Art Center or Polana Institute.
